SERVICES WE OFFER

Sustainability

Pottinger Gaherty provides clients with ways to efficiently and effectively implement their sustainability projects. We work with public and private sector clients to determine their 'E3' considerations (Economic, Ecological and Social Equity) and achieve sustainability through customized solutions and practical processes.

Sustainability is the balanced integration of the E3 considerations in a single system. The system can be an organization, project, individual, or even a pond. As conditions change, the system must adapt to continue to reach a balance. Failure to achieve sustainability will eventually result in system failure.

Our Sustainability Services include:

  • Project Management – Overall project coordination, LEEDTM certification, community consultation and needs integration.
  • Strategic Planning Sessions – For the effective establishment of corporate priorities into full corporate strategic plans from vision to goals to monitoring measurement. Our professional certification in strategic planning means we can start anywhere in the process and build from that point onward.
  • Corporate Sustainability Action Plans – Practical results-based plans that are designed for simple implementation and measurement.
  • Environmental Services – Environmental planning, habitat management, impact assessment, land use planning, and sustainability assessment and design, in addition to our contaminated site services. We employ a multi-disciplinary team of planners, biologists, ecologists, agrologists, and earth scientists advising on environmental and planning issues.
  • Policy and Regulatory Development – Drafting, reviewing and implementing policies and regulations, including Official Community Plans, zoning bylaws, incentive triggers, downtown revitalization plans, green roof regulations, and social policy.
  • Corporate and Community Energy Plans – Efficient preparation of plans that can be implemented immediately and incorporated into your short- and long-term fiscal management process.
  • Fiscal Transformation – The application of several unique Triple Bottom Line tools that can be implemented at the corporate strategic, financial or project level and provides a framework for encouraging corporate responsibility for sustainability through E3 balance.
  • Presentations – Customized presentations on a variety of sustainability issues for educational, promotional or controversial(!) audiences.

Our sustainability experts, Kim Fowler, M.Sc., MCIP: kfowler@pggroup.com and Susan Wilkins, M.Sc., P.Geo., LEEDTM 2.0 Accredited Professional: swilkins@pggroup.com, are available to speak on sustainability issues across the country.
