Junior Environmental Scientist/Engineer, Contaminated Sites Group, Vancouver

Job Responsibilities:

• Soil, groundwater and surface water sampling.
• Drilling investigations.
• Site investigations.
• Site remediation.
• Budgeting, reporting and reviewing policies and systems.
• Contributing to PGL's corporate initiatives. 

As the training progresses, you will be expected to supervise remediation and drilling contractors. Hands-on experience in the field will progress towards project management and directing others in the field. Report writing and client contact will become an important component of the position. Ideally we are seeking candidates with strong people skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Job Requirements:

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Science.
• Ability to register with APEGBC, College of Biologists, or BC Institute of Agrology following experience pre-requisite is an asset.
• 1-2 years of industry or consulting experience is preferred.
• A working knowledge of and ability to interpret BC and Canadian environmental regulations, guidelines and standards.
• Experience developing and administering project budgets.
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to perform final QA/QC on work products.
• Excellent internal and external client service skills.
• Willingness to travel, generally within the province of BC.
